In Memory of
Florence May "Flossie" Vaughan
92,
Wolfville, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2008, in Wolfville Nursing Home,
where she resided for many years. Born in Wolfville in 1915, she was a daughter
of the late Joseph and Bessie (Davison) Vaughan. Flossie attended school in
Gaspereau and Wolfville and was a member of the Gaspereau Baptist Church.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Alice Coldwell (Allison)
and Mildred Zwicker (Dennis). She was the last surviving member of her immediate
family. Her life was one of caring for others, her father, her nieces and
nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She moved to Dartmouth in 1970 to be
with her sister, Mildred Zwicker, and made many new friends there. She cared
for children again until her health failed. She enjoyed knitting and visiting
with friends, especially her dear friend, Hilda Allen, and watching Don Messer.
She could often be heard playing her favourite hymn, “Jesus Keep Me
Near The Cross”. Flossie will be fondly remembered by many family and
friends. There will be no visitation for Flossie. Cremation has taken place.
Family and friends will gather for a graveside service on Friday, May 2, at
4 p.m. in Gaspereau Cemetery, Gaspereau. Funeral arrangements are under the
care and direction of H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home 568 Main St., Wolfville (902-542-2151).
